Outreach has always been a vital part of our communal life, and gives hands and feet to our longing to connect with other groups and individuals working for a more just and loving world.
In addition to outreach of many kinds locally including prison ministry and urban renewal projects, we work with and support humanitarian organizations such as Oxfam, Save the Children, Doctors without Borders, Mennonite Central Committee, World Vision, and Maryknoll Lay Missioners in fighting poverty, disease, and the devastation of natural disasters.
Breaking the Cycle
Working in conjunction with teachers, parents, police officers, and former gang members, “Breaking the Cycle” presents speakers whose life experiences have led them to understand the vital role of forgiving in nonviolent conflict resolution. Launched in the wake of the 1999′s Columbine High School massacre, this educational program has reached tens of thousands of middle school, high school and college students in New York, London, and elsewhere in the past decade.
