Children and Community

“Every child is a thought in the mind of God,” Eberhard Arnold wrote. “The only true service to our children is to help them become what they already are in God’s thoughts.” But for parents of young children, the daily grind of sleepless nights, temper tantrums, endless colds often leave little time left for reflecting on what our children are meant to become, or what our part is in guiding them in that direction.

This weekly meeting for parents and prospective parents of children under the age of 10 is a place where we can share experiences, find support, and learn from each other. We’ll read from and discuss the wisdom of Bruderhof educators, and consider how to find and build family-strengthening communities in our own situations. There are no easy answers to the problems facing children and parents today, but we can find our way forward better together.
