The Little Path

September 30, 2020 by

It is spring time in Australia. In the ochre and olive green paddocks, the wattles burst into bloom. Brilliant blue fairy wrens flit among the branches.

The most direct route to my place of work is a high, dusty road. But beside it, through the trees and almost unknown, runs a little path. I often took that way home.

Community life can be intense. How much we need to walk the little paths, where the only sound is the hum of insects among flowers, in order to find refreshment for our hearts.
