The Red Bird's Song

September 9, 2020 by

Suddenly I saw it, the red bird on the mountain side, singing its heart out. I think this one has got to be about joy, pure and simple, and delight in God’s creation.

Love the natural world. Protect it and do not destroy it, so that this small messenger, and myriad others like and unlike him, can continue to shout from the treetops.

On coming home I couldn’t recall his song. But I wondered. Was it “Hallelujah!” I had heard?

Red Bird by Pauline HarrisonPainted from memory. The red bird was a scarlet tanager.
