Amber Maendel

Amber Maendel

I’m Amber and I find autobiographies awkward. I was born in upstate New York, spent a couple years in Pennsylvania, and then spent the rest of my childhood in Australia. I graduated from the Mount Academy on the banks of the Hudson River and since then, I haven’t really finished anything I’ve started (academically). I spent five years in Europe – Germany and England. In Germany, I attended language school and then university in the former Eastern Bloc town of Jena where I majored in history. I currently live in Fox Hill, in Walden, New York.

Bored yet? Well, here’s my interests list: I like mountain biking, campfires and camping, airbrush painting, messing about with fiction and old manuscripts, archival material, and history. My dream is to do a bike tour through Europe. Maybe Plough will sponsor me if I write well enough?
