Columbine House • Denver, CO

About Us:

Columbine House is a brand new community venture as of December 2020. Our aim? To be a place of gathering where people, moved by God, can seek what it means to live a common life together under God’s reign of love and justice. Columbine House currently consists of a couple along with a growing network of people in Colorado who are exploring how to live out their faith in Christ more radically and faithfully.

We are located in University Park in south Denver, just a few blocks from the University of Denver. Our backyard is exceptionally large, making it perfect for outside gatherings beneath the Colorado blue sky. We are a fifteen-minute walk from the Light Rail, and just three miles from the center of Denver. We can walk to shops through neighborhoods consisting of a mix of single-family homes, peppered with town-homes and various kinds of rental properties, that could house others who are seeking to join with us. Walking our streets are seniors, young families, teens, and young adults who naturally congregate at Observatory Park, just two blocks away.

Point of Interest:

A five-minute walk away is a panoramic view of the Rockies. The mountains always remind us to look up and look out. God’s coming kingdom of peace is so much greater than all the many problems and concerns that weigh us down.

Connecting with Neighbors:

We have an open door and people are welcome to drop by any time of the day. Our downstairs apartment is available for those in need of a place to stay. During the day we are either working in the yard gardening, serving the needs of our neighbors, or connecting with people interested in our life together. Evenings are devoted to sharing meals and to exploring what it means to live out the gospel in today’s world.

Leslie is a high school English teacher by training and loves poetry. She has taught and worked as a librarian in several communities. An avid flower gardener, Leslie also loves to organize and keep things tidy, creating spaces where people and children feel loved and cared for. Charles and Leslie both love to walk the city streets, travel, play volleyball, and befriend those on the margins of society.
