Water So Cold It Burns

Water so cold it burns, even in summer. Stream tumbles and chuckles way down to the valley, picking up sparkling fragments of light as it goes, leaving pieces behind as small jewel like pools in smooth boulder hollows. Some lie golden, under the water, others, warm, glance off the cool dark shadows, dappling the day.
